I went playing catch with my son at the park near home.
息子と近くの公園へキャッチボールに行ってきた。

He got a baseball primer book, and seemed that he wanted to try to throw a breaking ball.
どうやら野球の入門書を手に入れたので、変化球を試したいらしい。

"Here goes a forkball!", he threw a ball. But it went in the totally wrong direction, and I ran after it desperately.
「フォーク行くで！」投げる息子。明後日の方向に飛んで行くボール。それを必死で私が追いかける。

It happened very often, so I was getting too tired.
何度もそれを繰り返して、流石にヘトヘトになる。

"Stop It! Look, I'll show you what is called the forkball."
「ちょっと待て！いいか、フォークってのはこうやるんだ。」

Explaining how to throw the forkball, I threw it to him proudly. But it also went in the wrong direction.
説明しながら得意になって投げる。が、大暴投。

"Where did you throw it at." he complained.
「どこ投げてんねん！」息子が愚痴る。

"That was a bad example. I did it for you on purpose!"
「今のは悪い例ね。ワザと見せてやったんだ！」

I feel that the dignity as his father is getting low day by day...
父親の威厳は日に日に下がって行く気がする...

I've changed the template of this blog and have customized it for these days.
ブログのテンプレートを変えて、ここ数日、色々カスタマイズしてました。

I flatter myself that it has been finished in a cool design, I think.
我ながら、なかなかクールなデザインに仕上がったなと思うわけでありまして。

Being absorbed in customizing the design, I've neglected to update the English diary which is the main thing of this blog.
カスタマイズに夢中になって、肝心の日記の更新をサボってしまいましたが (´Д｀;)

But customizing the design is really fun.
でも、デザインのカスタマイズって面白いですね。

Well, I love doing this kinda thing after all.
やはり私はそういうのが好きなんだな。

Why are you studying English? What's your goals?
あなたはなぜ英語を勉強していますか？目標はなんですか？

It would be "wanna talk to foreigners", "wanna travel abroad", or "wanna watch movies without subtitles", and so on.
おそらく、外国人と会話してみたい、海外に行きたい、字幕なしで映画を見たいなどでしょうか。

It's almost same for me, but I have a unique one too.
私も似たようなものだが、他にもユニークな目標がある。

It's that I want to have a dream in English.
それは英語の夢を見てみたいということだ。

I suppose it need to become thinking in English involuntarily.
英語の夢を見るためには、無意識に英語でものを考えられるようになる必要があるだろう。

And I think it's a proof of the proficient command of English.
そして、それは英語が熟達した証拠と言えると考えている。

Well, I have experiences that I said something in English in spite of myself.
まぁ、私だって無意識に思わず英語が口から出たことくらいはある。

For example, hit my little toe on the leg of a table, and screamed "Shit!".
例えば、足の小指をテーブルの足にぶつけて思わず「シット！」って言っちゃったこととか。

Ah, I know that the goal, to dream in English, is too far away for me...
いや、わかってる。私が英語の夢を見るのはまだまだ遠い先の話だろう... (;´∀`)

Last night, I went to a All-you-can-eat BBQ restaurant with my family.
昨晩、焼肉食べ放題に行ってきた。

I ate to my heart's contents! Hu Ha Ha!
たらふく食べてやったぜ！ふぅははー！

Now, I'm scared of a scale... too scared to weigh myself!
そして今、体重計が怖い。体重計に乗るのが怖すぎる！

By the way, finally I succeeded in persuading my wife to buy a Sit-up Bench, a fitness equipment to exercise abdominal muscles.
ところで、とうとう女房の説得に成功し、腹筋を鍛えるための「シットアップベンチ」の購入許可が下りた。

OK, I'll get back to a ideal body like in my teens with it.
よーし、これで10代の頃のような理想の体を取り戻すぞ。

...You think I'm certain to fail again? Ah, don't say it.
...どうせまた失敗するんだろって？おっと、それは言わない約束だ (;ﾟ Дﾟ )

Last week, I was surprised the news that the Cui-daore restaurant, famous for the Cui-daore puppet, is closing its doors.
先週、あのくいだおれ人形で有名なくいだおれ食堂が閉店するというニュースに驚かされた。

The Cui-daore puppet has contributed to Osaka's prosperity as one of the landmarks of Osaka for about a half century.
くいだおれ人形といえば、大阪の顔として約半世紀に渡って大阪の発展に貢献してきた人形である。

Having heard the news, I'm thinking to go to see the Cui-daore puppet to say good-bye.
ニュースを聞いて、これは私も一度くいだおれ人形にお別れを言いに行かねばと思っていたところだ。

In the follow-up news, the restaurant has gotten many offers from around Japan to buy its popular puppet.
続報によると、その後この人気の人形を引き取りたいとの申し出が日本各地から多く寄せられているそうだ。

I'm glad if the Cui-daore puppet will be kept up, and hope it to stay the symbol of Osaka as it is now.
くいだおれ人形が存続できれば嬉しいし、できればこのまま大阪のシンボルとして活躍してもらいたいものである。

Anyway, I wanna say, for now, to the Cui-daore puppet, thanks for the great job.
ひとまずは、くいだおれ人形にお疲れ様と言ってやりたい。

I have a green turtle. His name is "Kameta".
うちではミドリガメを飼っている。彼の名は「カメ太」である。

My son got him at a fair stall at the last summer festival, then he became our family.
昨年の夏祭りに息子が露天で手に入れてから、彼はうちの家族の一員になった。

I think it would be around last December when Kameta went into hibernation.
カメ太が冬眠に入ったのは昨年の12月くらいだったろうか。

Yesterday, My son said in excitement "Dad, Kameta is waking up!", and "Look! he eat a feed!" followed greefully.
昨日、息子が興奮気味に言った「お父さん、カメ太起きてる！」、続けて嬉しそうに「見て！エサ食べた！」。

Kameta is still child and the length is about 4cm.
カメ太はまだ子供でその体長は4cm程度。

It must be hard to spend winter for small him.
小さな彼にとって冬を越すのは大変だったろう。

Well done Kameta!
よく頑張ったな、カメ太！

I've changed this blog's header picture.
このブログのヘッダ画像を変更してみました。

Its design features "HeNoHeNoMoHeJi" in japanese which is used as my self-portrait in the profile.
私のプロフィールで自画像として使っている顔文字の「へのへのもへじ」を特徴とするデザインにしています。

Though I used the "HeNoHeNoMoHeJi" without any thought, it's unknown what does it come from originally.
あまり深く考えずに使っていた「へのへのもへじ」ですけど、その起源や由来はよくわかっていません。

When I see or hear a "HeNoHeNoMoHeJi", I immediately associate it with a scarecraw drawn one in its face. So I just imagine that a farmer of the past came up with the "HeNoHeNoMoHeJi" in a sense of fun.
「へのへのもへじ」と聞いて真っ先に連想するのは案山子(かかし)ですが、きっと昔の農家の方が遊び心で考えたんでしょうかね。

By the way, Do you know that the "HeNoHeNoMoHeJi" has the wife named "HeMeHeMeKuKoHi"?
ところで、「へのへのもへじ」には「へめへめくこひ」という奥さんがいることをご存知でしょうか？

I went to see cherry blossom with my family at the park near my house tonight.
近所の公園に夜桜を見に行ってきました。

It will rain tomorrow, so we wanted to see it at its peak bloom before falling.
明日は雨らしいので、せっかくだから散る前の綺麗なうちに見ておこうということで。

Full bloom of light uped cherry blossom was fantastic as if I were in totally another world.
ライトアップされた満開の桜は幻想的で、まるで別の世界にいるような感じさえしました。

I wanna show you that wonderful scenery.
あの素晴らしい景色を皆さんにもお見せしたかった。

but I'm sorry to say that I forgot to take pictures... sigh...

These days, a word of Metabo becomes popular in public.
このところ、巷では「メタボ」という言葉が流行っている。

It's a abbreviation of Metabolic Syndrome that represents obesity in short.
これはメタボリックシンドロームを略したもので、簡単に言えば肥満ということだ。

Recently, I was told by my wife, "You looks like a Metabo."
最近、女房に「メタボじゃない？」と言われてしまった。

Come on, stop joking! I'm NOT a Metabo!
おいおい、冗談はやめてくれ！私はメタボじゃない！

Certainly, I have a feeling that I'm getting gain weight a bit lately, but stop call it Metabo.
そりゃ、最近ちょっぴり体重が増えてきたような気はするよ。だからってメタボはないだろう。

Japanese people tends to wanna say such a vogue word indiscreetly. I think you must just wanna say "Metabo."
日本人はなにかとこういう流行り言葉を口にしたがる。自分、「メタボ」ってただ言いたいだけちゃうんかと。

Listen, I'm not a Metabo. Definitely not!
私はメタボではない。断じてちがう！

It's spring in japan now. Spring is a good season to start something new.
春ですね。春は何か新しいことを始めるのに良い季節です。

I've made up my mind to start something new.
私もまた何か新しいことを始めようと思い立ちました。

What is it? blog in English!! That's it!
それは何か？英語でブログ！これだ。

I've studyed English for a long time but it doesn't make any progress especially writing...
私は長いこと英語を勉強してきたけど、ぜんぜん上達してないんですよね。特にライティングはヒドイもんだ。

So, I'll write something here in English at time to improve my English.
というわけで、英語を上達させるため、時々ここに英語で何か書いていこうと思います。
